About our woodland animal ornaments
Woodland ornaments work differently from formal statuary. They should feel as though they belong near ferns, bark, leaf litter and shaded planting. Use against a hedge, tree line or open lawn. Check antler width as well as height.

I have seen a stone fox work in a 3m² basement well garden because the scale was right. Small gardens do not always need tiny ornaments. Mark the figure's height and width with cardboard, then check it from indoors. For stone above 30kg, a stable base is necessary. I personally use a hidden paving slab beneath the whole footprint.

Prices currently run from £35 for the aluminium Woodpecker to £699 for the 71cm Wild Boar. Small stone animals cluster around the lower end. Deer, fountains and large metal sculpture sit higher because their castings are larger.
The 7.5kg Hedgehog with Apples measures 16cm high and stays settled in exposed weather. The 60cm aluminium hare weighs only 2kg, so repositioning is easy. That low weight also means its footing needs checking in an exposed garden. The 32kg Woodland Fox is shorter, yet it needs more base preparation.
Choose by position before choosing the animal. Raised pieces need enough depth to sit securely. Ground animals need a base that will not sink.
