About our dragon garden statues
We stock 13 dragon garden statues across two materials: hand-finished cast stone and solid cast aluminium. The stone range includes six hatchling designs in Sandstone and Stone finishes, a mid-sized Draco the Dragon at £169, and the imposing 870mm-tall Heraldic Dragon at £275. For something statement-making, the Small Dragon Metal Garden Ornament stands a full metre tall in cast aluminium with a hand-applied aged bronze patina at £999.
Dragons sit within our wider Mythical Garden Statues collection alongside Fairy Garden Statues and Griffin Garden Statues. Every piece is frost-proof for UK winters and ships with Free UK Delivery.
Why we chose this range
"We tested dozens of dragon statues before selecting this range. The cast stone pieces from Melmar and Lucas Stone weather in UK conditions, and the detail on the hatchling scales is genuinely impressive for the price point. The aluminium dragon is in a class of its own at 45kg of solid metal. I've placed one at a customer's entrance and it stopped every visitor in their tracks."

Types of dragon statues we offer
Dragon hatchlings
From £59 each. Six designs in Sandstone or Stone finish, 130mm tall, 4.7kg. Compact enough for rockeries, shelves, and border edges. Includes Sleeping, Smiling, Proud, and Small Hatchling poses. Collectible as a set.
Mid-range stone dragons
£169 to £275. The Draco (220mm, Cotswold or Burnt Umber) and the Heraldic Dragon (870mm tall, 78kg). Traditional Western dragon styling with fine scale detailing.
Cast aluminium dragon
£999. The Small Dragon Metal Garden Ornament stands 1000mm tall at 45kg. Hand-finished aged bronze patina in black and gold. Won't rust, crack, or fade. A serious garden centrepiece.
Placement tip
Position larger dragon statues at entrance points, beside ponds, or at the end of a garden path where they create a centre piece. Hatchlings work best tucked among plants at ground level where visitors discover them unexpectedly. Read our guide to positioning garden ornaments for more ideas.
Matt's installation tip
The Heraldic Dragon weighs 78kg and the metal dragon weighs 45kg. Neither needs fixing down on a flat, level surface, their weight holds them stable in wind. But if you're placing a heavy dragon on soft ground, lay a 450mm x 450mm paving slab first so it doesn't sink over winter. I've seen a few beautiful statues lean after a wet autumn because the soil softened underneath them.
For the hatchlings at 4.7kg, consider using a thin layer of clear silicone under the base if positioning on a wall top or raised plinth. It prevents them walking off the edge in high winds without damaging the stone.

Best For: A dramatic, traditional dragon as a garden centre piece
Why I Recommend It: At 870mm tall and 78kg, the Heraldic Dragon has genuine presence. The cast stone detail on the wings and scales is the best I've seen at this price. It weathers too, after one season outdoors it looks like it's been there for centuries.

Stone dragon statues weather naturally over their first year outdoors, developing a patina of moss and lichen that adds character. If you prefer to keep the original finish, seal with a clear stone sealant before placing outside.
