Cut from solid basalt, this column has a natural rough finish on two sides. The other two sides are polished smooth. The contrast between raw stone and glossy black suits contemporary gardens, courtyards, and patios.
Water rises through the top of the column and flows down the polished faces. The thin film of water catches light and brings the dark stone to life. The sound is quiet and soothing, making it ideal near seating areas or bedroom windows.
Basalt is an igneous rock formed from cooled volcanic lava. It is one of the hardest natural stones available. It will not crack in frost, fade in sunlight, or absorb moisture. No sealing or treatment is needed at any point.
The included reservoir sits below ground level with a 670mm diameter steel grid cover. Water recirculates in a closed loop with no mains connection required. Fill the reservoir, plug in the pump, and the feature runs continuously. Top up occasionally in warm weather to replace water lost to evaporation.
