The Drilled Basalt Column Water Feature stands 70cm tall and is carved from natural volcanic basalt. Water bubbles up through the drilled centre and cascades over the polished top, creating a gentle and calming sound.
Basalt is one of the hardest natural stones available. It forms when volcanic lava cools rapidly, producing a dense material that resists frost, rain, and UV exposure without deteriorating. This column will look as good in ten years as it does on the day you install it.
The polished top contrasts with the rough, natural texture of the column sides. This gives each piece a distinctive character. No two columns are identical because every piece is hand-carved from a single block of stone.
Setup is straightforward. The kit includes a submersible pump, a 670mm diameter reservoir basin, a sturdy support grid, and an integrated LED light. Bury the reservoir in the ground, place the grid on top, position the column, and connect the pump. Most installations take under an hour.
The LED light illuminates the water as it flows over the polished surface, making this feature equally striking after dark. Position it as a centrepiece on a patio, beside a path, or within a planting scheme for maximum visual impact.
