About our garden gazebos
A gazebo is the one garden structure people sit under, so it has to handle wind, rain and years of weather without complaint. This collection splits into three honest types. Ornate metal and wrought iron gazebos give you a permanent decorative frame for climbing roses and lights. Cedar wooden gazebos are solid timber rooms with hardtop roofs. Aluminium pop-up gazebos go up in an afternoon for shade and shelter. Prices run from £250 to £1,549, every one with free UK delivery.
Want a specific style? Browse our metal gazebos, cedar wooden gazebos, or aluminium pop-up gazebos. For a louvred-roof outdoor room, see our pergolas. To frame the approach, pair a gazebo with a garden arch.
Why we stock three different types
"People ask me for 'a gazebo' and mean three completely different things. Some want a decorative iron frame for roses, some want a solid cedar roof they can shelter under in a downpour, and some just want shade for a summer party next weekend. There's no single best gazebo, only the right one for the job. So we stock all three properly rather than pushing one type on everyone. Tell me how you'll use it and I'll point you straight at it.", Matt, Garden Ornaments
The three types of gazebo we offer
Metal & wrought iron gazebos
Ornate powder-coated steel and iron frames for climbing roses, jasmine and fairy lights. They stay up all year as a decorative feature. The Avignon adds a waterproof canopy so you can actually sit under it. From £259 to £1,499.
Cedar wooden gazebos
Solid cedar frames with ventilated double-tier steel roofs. These are permanent garden rooms that shrug off rain and lift heat out in summer. The Norfolk Ottawa range comes in three sizes from 3m to 4m. From £1,099.
Aluminium pop-up gazebos
Lightweight rust-resistant aluminium frames with vented or louvred roofs. They go up fast for BBQs, parties and shade, then fold away. Sizes run from 2.8m to 4m. From £250.
Louvred pergolas
If you want an adjustable roof rather than a fixed one, our aluminium Nexus pergolas have hand-crank louvres, integrated LED lighting and side screens. A true outdoor room for dining and entertaining.
Expert tip: anchor it before you trust it
A gazebo is a sail until it is fixed down. Wind load on a roofed structure is far greater than people expect. Bolt metal and wooden gazebo legs to a hard base, or concrete them in on soft ground, at least 300mm deep. Pop-up aluminium gazebos should be weighted at every leg and taken down before a storm. Never leave a fabric or vented canopy up in high winds.

Matt's pick: best all-round garden gazeboBest For: A gazebo you actually use, the waterproof canopy means rain does not end the evening Why I Recommend It: "An open iron gazebo looks lovely but you still get wet. The Avignon keeps the decorative metal frame and adds a proper waterproof canopy on top, so it works as real seating from spring through autumn. It is the gazebo I send people to when they want the look and the shelter." Price: £1,499 View Product Browse our full collection of garden ornaments to find the right piece for your garden. |
Frequently asked questions
It depends on how you will use it. Choose a metal gazebo for a decorative frame and climbing plants. Choose a cedar wooden gazebo for a permanent, sheltered garden room. Choose an aluminium pop-up for quick, foldaway shade at events. The Avignon metal gazebo with its waterproof canopy is our best all-rounder for everyday use.
A metal gazebo is a permanent fixture; a pop-up folds away. Ornate metal and iron gazebos are bolted down and left up all year as a garden feature. Aluminium pop-up gazebos are lightweight, fold flat, and are designed to go up for a day or a season. Pop-ups suit events and shade, metal suits decoration and climbers.
Yes, every gazebo needs anchoring before you rely on it. Wind load on a roofed structure is significant. Bolt metal and wooden gazebos to a hard base, or concrete the legs at least 300mm into soft ground. Weight every leg of a pop-up gazebo, and take it down before a storm.
Neither is better; they do different jobs. Cedar wooden gazebos give you a solid, sheltered room with a hardtop roof, ideal as a permanent seating space. Metal gazebos are lighter, more decorative, and better for training climbing plants. If you want shelter, choose wood. If you want an ornamental frame, choose metal.
Metal and cedar gazebos are built to stay up all year. Their powder-coated steel and treated cedar frames handle UK weather once anchored. Aluminium pop-up gazebos can stay up across summer, but take down the canopy before winter storms and heavy snow. Fabric and vented roofs should never be left up in high winds.
Allow about 1 square metre per seated person. A 3m x 3m gazebo seats a small table for four comfortably. A 3.6m or 4m gazebo suits a six-seater dining set with room to move around it. Measure your space first and leave clearance on every side for chairs to pull out.
