Wrought Iron Gazebos

Victorian-style wrought iron gazebos

Two heavy-duty wrought iron gazebos in galvanised steel with a matt black UV-resistant powder coat. Both pieces use the same ornate scrollwork and leaf detailing seen on Victorian conservatories and bandstands, sized for climbing roses, wisteria or jasmine to weave through the metalwork. Prices from £1,145, free UK delivery.

The galvanised core means the steel is rust-protected from the inside out, so the powder coat only has cosmetic work to do. Both gazebos take 3-4 hours to assemble with two people on a level base of paving slabs or concrete.

About our wrought iron gazebos

A wrought iron gazebo gives you a permanent garden structure that handles British weather without rotting like timber or rusting through like cheap mild steel. The two pieces in the range are made from galvanised steel inside and out, then powder-coated matt black with a UV-resistant finish, so the underlying metal is rust-protected even if the coating gets nicked.

Both gazebos pair well with our Stone Garden Statues placed under the canopy, and with our Ornamental Metal Gates at the garden entrance. Like our iron rose arches, the gazebos are finished by hand and the scrollwork has the weight you would expect of period ironwork rather than the thinness of cheaper imports.

Growing tips

The metalwork is at its best with planting weaving through it. Climbing roses are the classic pairing. Wisteria works on the larger gazebo if you have space for it to mature. Honeysuckle, clematis and jasmine all suit the scale of the smaller piece. Tie new growth in loosely with garden twine for the first season, and let the plant find its own way after that.

Practical care

  • Initial check: tighten all bolts a week after assembly once the structure has settled.
  • Annual check: walk round in spring, look for any chips in the powder coat.
  • Touch-ups: dab any chips with a matt black metal paint before winter to keep moisture off the bare galvanised steel.
  • Climber care: prune climbing plants annually to stop the weight pulling the structure out of true.

Construction

The steel is galvanised inside and out, then powder-coated matt black. Galvanising is the rust protection that matters; the powder coat is mostly there for the finish. UK customers usually find this combination handles 10+ years outside without significant corrosion.

Where to put one

A wrought iron gazebo works best as a destination point in the garden. Browse our full garden ornaments range for matching pieces.

  • At the end of a lawn, where it draws the eye through the garden.
  • On the centre line of a formal garden design.
  • Set so the doorway frames a view from the house windows.
  • On the boundary between two garden zones.

Common questions

How long does assembly take?

Both gazebos take 3-4 hours to assemble with two people. Clear instructions and all fixings are included in the box.

What size base do I need?

A firm level base is essential. Concrete or well-laid paving works, sized at least 10cm larger than the gazebo footprint on every side. Specific dimensions for each gazebo are on the product pages.

Do I need planning permission?

Most garden gazebos sit within permitted development. If you are in a conservation area or own a listed property, check with your local authority before ordering.
